Ekayani and The Tom Glide Space set to release “Yoga on the Dance Floor” at the Amsterdam Dance Event 2008

"Ekayani with Tom Glide will open your "Third Eye". Their cutting edge new dance music is revelatory." -Mike McHugh

The international duo comprised of France’s house music dj and producer Tom Glide and New York City singer, Ekayani are premiering  “Sanskrit Rap - Yoga on the Dance Floor ” Tuesday, October 21 on a televised radio appearance on The English Breakfast Radio in Amsterdam, NL. The show airs on 99.4 FM or 104.6 Cable between 7 am and 9 am.

The inspiration for Ekayani and The Tom Glide Space’s dance album is the Bhagavad Gita, an epic Sanskrit poem that addresses the diverse paths of yoga. “I knew that I couldn’t say anything more authoritative so I went to the fifth chapter and found a key verse that summed up the ultimate benefits of realization; Joy! The reaction has been amazing. We won the New Century People’s Choice Award for Best Urban Track 2007 for “THIRD EYE”. I started getting emails from across the country asking where our yoga album could be bought.”
Their collaboration began in the summer of 2007 when Ekayani  needed a producer to do high quality remixes of her version of “Like Fire”, the Joan Armatrading classic that had already become a downtown NYC hit on the Liquid Sound Lounge  (WBAI).Their collaborations which showcase Ekayani singing into Glides dj sets, have been featured on the worlds top house music outlets: MusiqueRadio France, BEACH FM 102.9 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and the prestigious WPS1 Art Radio affiliate of the Modern Museum of Art (MOMA Queens).  Acclaimed by Armin Van Buren and Chris Fortier, Glides other notable productions include "Why Oh Why" on Sander Kleinenberg's Dutch label, Little Mountain. The duo will be promoting their album at the Amsterdam Dance Event October 23-25.
